Jamaica Margarita
Directions
Hibiscus Salted Rim (optional)
Add salt and dried hibiscus to mortar and grind it up with pestle until well combined but still course. Get our Wooden Mortar & Pestle here.
To get lime wedge, cut the lime in half lengthwise then cut three wedges from each half lime to yield 6 small wedges total.
Using your knife, carefully make a slit across the inside center of each lime wedge.
Place hibiscus salt on shallow dish that has enough flat surface to cover at least the diameter of your glass.
Run one lime wedge around the rim of your glass and set lime wedge aside.
Dip rim of glass into hibiscus salt and add as much salt as desired. Set glass aside.
Jamaica Margarita
Add ice to cocktail shaker. If you don't have a cocktail shaker, just add straight to glass and stir instead.
Add the margarita ingredients and Agua de Jamaica to shaker.
Place lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
Remove lid and pour margarita with ice into rocks glass.
Place lime wedge on rim and enjoy!
Recipe Note
1. We offer dried hibiscus flowers in pieces or whole flower. The benefit of using whole flowers is, once soaked from making your agua de jamaica, they can be used to make savory dishes as a filling for tacos and quesadillas.
