Papel Picado is made by stacking thin sheets of tissue paper and then (using stencils with a chisel and hammer) punching out intricate designs into the paper and separating each sheet to be strung into a banner. It is a traditional art form in México and designs can vary widely depending on the occasion. The tissue paper is fragile and will tear over time, but that's part of the meaning behind papel picado... a reminder of how precious life is. Choose from: All Occasion, Lotería, Mini Papel Picado Banner, or Mexican Party Flags.
